For some reason, our tiny country has something with big American cars..

A local dealer/shop that specialises in french cars (when I asked him why, he replied ''Because they break all the time''. ) Has many American cars for sale, like a real Camaro SS, 25th anniversary stingray, regular stingray, US imported Jaguar XK coupe and more.

Then he showed me his personal car. A 59' or 60' Corvette. He was thinking about selling it. It is for sale now for 92.000 euro. Then his son came. In his 86' Corvette. Wich he bought that week for 6000 euros. He took me for a ride in it. Then a friend of the owner came. In a 65' Mustang he also took me for a ride. another day another friend showed up. In a Chevy G20 van (really popular cars over here) and another in his DD Chevrolet Suburban.

American cars are really popular here.

I still have many pictures of that place, it was two years ago. IDK if the owner would mind if I put them here on Oppo.

That's really cool. Do you think it's the whole 'live big' idea those cars capture?

Yes, because most of the cars in our country are as small as possible, due to road tax being calculated by weight, I guess some people are sick of small cars and want something big.

Cars above 25 years do not pay road tax anymore, (considered oldtimers). Sadly, the goverment noticed many people buying old cars as DD and not paying road tax. So now, in Januari 2014, they will start paying 25% of what they would normally pay.

What is even worse, when you drive a oldtimer on Diesel or LPG, you will start paying 100%.

Because of this, many people will scrap their oldtimer instead of selling, because they won't get anything for their car anymore, they lose their value..
